How to XGames like a Local
Happy Winter XGames weekend! XGames 2020 returns to Buttermilk Mountain and Aspen this weekend. This is one of the greatest exhibitions in winter sports, right here in our backyard. Between all of the extreme sporting events, concerts at XGames and the Belly Up, apres ski parties, and deals- there is a lot going on. Here are the top three tips to XGames like a local.
- Beware of concert ticket scams! Most of the Belly Up XGames shows are sold out, except for Bazzi on Sunday night. For tickets, head over to www.bellyupaspen.com. If you were looking forward to Rae Sremmurd, Alesso, or Bazzi, there’s still a chance. These artists have double performances this weekend, at both the Belly Up and at the base of Buttermilk Mountain. For tickets to these shows, visit https://xgamesaspen.frontgatetickets.com.
- You don’t have to be at Buttermilk to enjoy XGames. Some locals will tell you the best view of XGames action is from your own couch or at a local restaurant on ESPN. The XGames extreme spirit is celebrated throughout downtown Aspen all weekend. Select restaurants are open later and offering this weekend only deals (www.eataspen.com). New to town this winter, Snow Lodge is bringing the music of XGames to the apres ski scene. Head over to their sunny deck at the base of Aspen Mountain to see big name artists, such as Sofi Tukker and St. Lucia for frea.
- Take the bus! Whether you’re going to the concerts at the base of Buttermilk, heading into the XGames arena for any event, or getting to downtown Aspen for after parties, take RFTA and special courtesy shuttles. New this year, there is a designated area for ridesharing across the street from Buttermilk. As most locals will tell you, the bus is the most efficient and preferred, not to mention free, mode of transportation. Check out www.rfta.com for bus schedules.
Have a safe and fun XGames weekend!
