Klug on Aspen: Three lifelong locals share how they would make the most of the remaining summer!
Aside from a white-glove level of service, market expertise, timely communications, and the most powerful marketing and website of any broker in the Roaring Fork Valley, our team prides itself on offering our clients another unique service that no competing team can claim: the shared insights of three lifelong locals! In this new Klug on Aspen series, we aim to provide you with niche local insights you won't get from many Aspen publications, as they have writers and editors based in cities far from Aspen. These publications often regurgitate the same information available on the Aspen Chamber website, which is no secret. Our goal is to educate you on experiences you may be unaware of. So, as much as we enjoy a gondola ride up Ajax, an e-bike ride to the Bells, or dining at popular Aspen restaurants, that isn't the point of this blog series. We trust these insights will enhance your Aspen Snowmass experience and keep you coming back for more, just like we have been for decades.
Chris Klug - Lead Broker
Chris, his wife, and two kids reside in Snowmass Village where he spends most of his summer mountain biking, hiking, and one-wheeling with his kids. The mountain bike trails in Snowmass are among the most popular in Colorado and need no introduction. The trail information is everywhere! One of Chris's favorite activities that might not seem so obvious to most visitors is his weekly pilgrimage to Willits to wake surf, wakeboard, waterski, and foil with his family on Kodiak Ski Lake. At Kodiak, you can do a one-time rental or set a recurring schedule on one of their boats to enjoy various water sports typically unavailable in mountain communities. This is a great option for the coastal tourist who loves to summer in the mountains but misses their time on the water. Ask Chris; he would be happy to take you out for an inaugural day of water sports before summer is over!
Dylan Braun - Klug Properties Manager & Broker
Dylan was born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley. She currently resides in Basalt and brings mid-valley insights you won't get from Aspen publications or brokers. She shared several activities she plans on closing out her summer with, including:
1) Camping in Lenado, a charming and remote ghost town most Aspen visitors have never heard of.
2) A motorcycle ride to Marble for a famous Slow Groovin' BBQ dinner.
3) Paddle-boarding with her dog, Lumi, on Reudi Reservoir
4) Biking to pilates on Sunday, followed by the Basalt Farmers Market in Old Town Basalt
These are great options for anyone who feels like they have exhausted their favorite activities in Aspen and desire more action and adventure.
Eric Abrahamovich - Klug Properties Marketing Coordinator & Broker
Like Dylan, Eric was born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley. He was mostly raised in Carbondale but has lived in downtown Aspen for 3 years now, bringing a well-rounded perspective on how to enjoy the rest of your summer. Throughout August, you'll find Eric:
1) Car camping above Grizzly Reservoir with his friends and dog. Grizzly is his favorite place to car camp because it FEELS like a pristine and remote alpine lake you would only be able to access by backpacking; however, it only takes about 40 minutes to access from Aspen with four-wheel-drive.
2) Setting up volleyball games at Koch park.
3) Enjoying a sunset picnic/cookout at Smuggler Park.
4) Dropping in for a pickleball lesson at The Aspen Meadows
5) Engaging with locals at the outdoor Escobar patio in the middle of Hyman Street Mall.
Of course, these are just a handful of the ways our team plans to close out the summer. For more insights, don't hesitate to call, text, or email us, and we'd be happy to include you in our plans and offer more insights. Here's to a happy and healthy August!
Take care,
The Klug Team
