Snowmass Village

Just eight miles from Aspen, the Town of Snowmass Village was incorporated in 1977. Its crown jewel, Snowmass Mountain, opened for alpine operations ten years earlier and is now considered one of the largest ski areas with the most diverse terrain in North America.

What began as a thriving ranching community has since transformed into a destination ski town that also supports a year-round population of families, second homeowners, retirees, and locals. These residents live throughout the Brush Creek Valley, from the base off Highway 82 to the homes nestled on the mountain.

Known for its family-friendly atmosphere and more laid-back vibe compared to its sister city of Aspen, Snowmass Village offers a wide variety of property options. These range from luxury ski-in, ski-out estates in The Pines, Two Creeks, Wood Run, Ridge Run, and The Divide, to single-family homes in Horse Ranch and Melton Ranch, and classic slope-side condominiums in between. Snowmass Village is also home to Wildcat Ranch, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the Rocky Mountains, featuring just 14 homes on 6,500 acres, set against a breathtaking backdrop.

For those who enjoy country club living, the private, members-only Snowmass Club is an excellent option. Now under new ownership, it boasts an 18-hole links-style golf course designed by Jim Engh, an athletic club, a tennis complex, and two restaurants.

Snowmass Village is easy to navigate, thanks to a comprehensive system of paved pathways, mountain bike and hiking trails, and a free shuttle service. Outdoor adventure awaits just beyond your doorstep. The village is also a hub for culture and events, home to the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, the annual Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Music Festival, the Snowmass Balloon Festival, and the Snowmass Free Thursday Concert Series. For a taste of local tradition, the weekly Snowmass Rodeo, held every Wednesday evening in the summer, celebrates its 49th anniversary this year and is the longest-running rodeo in Colorado.

While Snowmass has a rich 50-year history, it is also embracing its future. The recent redevelopment and grand reopening of the all-new Snowmass Base Village has brought new restaurants, shops, and luxury condominium opportunities, all within steps of the Elk Camp Gondola. At the heart of the village is the Limelight Hotel, which anchors a vibrant central plaza featuring an ice rink surrounded by fire pits in the winter, transforming into an events lawn in the summer for outdoor concerts, a farmer’s market, and more.
