West End

Known to be one of the most historic neighborhoods in Aspen, early settlers built in the West End due to its relatively flat land compared to many hillside communities, and close proximity to the downtown commercial core and The Hotel Jerome. Today Aspen’s historic West End features mature tree-lined streets, elegant Victorian homes, and upscale modern dwellings.

What Sets the West End Apart?

A strong connection to nature is felt on the patio at Plato’s Restaurant at Aspen Meadows with spectacular sunset colors and the sounds of Castle Creek below. Access the Rio Grande Trail from the Campus pedestrian bridges over the Roaring Fork River. The Aspen Center for Physics is also located adjacent to the Institute.

Catch the free Cross-town Shuttle to Aspen Mountain’s Gondola Plaza, or enjoy an easy walk or cruise on a We-Cycle bike share to downtown Aspen’s best shops and restaurants. The West End is also only minutes away from Clark’s Market, Aspen Wine & Spirits, Ace Hardware, and the Aspen Post Office at Puppy Smith. Many West End families take advantage of The Early Learning Center at the Yellow Brick Building for childcare. The Red Brick Center for the Arts is home to artists, local non-profits, and a climbing gym and gymnastics facility.
